We are a group of musicians with different background who lives in the United States and share the admiration of the legendary coptic melodies.
We decided to be the primier in the Coptic Church history to play those melodies in the contemporary Wetern rhytms and tunes. Hope that would increase the bonding of the american born coptics to their great Coptic Church melodies.
We meant not to sing the hymns to let the audient sing it in one's favorable language; Coptic, Arabic or English. Not to forget that many melodies are sung in the Church in different lyrics based on the occasion and time of the year. The lyrics are available in many churches, websites and books. We wanted our work to be just music to give the opportunity to even the non-Coptic to enjoy those great melodies.
Music is a universal human language that anyone can equaly enjoy no matter one's religion, age, sex, social status or racial background. It is a unique pleasing and amusing harmonized tunes so let us all enjoy it. Lucky are the Copts because they enjoy more the spiritual bless of the lyrics
We wish that the Coptic Rock will not be just rhythms and tunes but a Movement, motto and identity where each one of us believes and behaves like a Rock in the walls of his Church wherever he lives.
